Course Overview
This role exists across public, private, and voluntary sectors, wherever training and development are needed—such as healthcare, education, construction, business, and more.
The primary purpose is to assess learners’ competence using various methods, provide feedback, set learning goals, and support their progression. Assessors plan and carry out assessments, report results, and contribute to quality assurance, standardisation, and moderation processes.
They work independently, face-to-face or remotely, in a range of settings. Assessors must maintain up-to-date knowledge in their field and ensure their work meets industry and quality standards while collaborating with learners, tutors, and internal quality teams.


Qualification Achieved
On completion of this apprenticeship, apprentice will hold a Level 3 Learning and Skills Assessor Apprenticeship.
Additional qualifications achieved include:
- Level 2 Functional Skills Maths (If Applicable)
- Level 2 Functional Skills English (If Applicable)
Progression
The role may act as a gateway to further career and training opportunities, including, but not limited to:
- Internal Quality Assurer (IQA)
- Curriculum or Programme Coordinator
- Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET)
Learning and Assessment
Each apprentice will have their own dedicated tutor who will conduct monthly remote tutorials and reviews, providing continuous support throughout the apprenticeship program. Depending on the apprentice’s needs, the frequency of these sessions may vary.
End Point Assessment
Each apprentice must undergo an independent end-point assessment to determine the outcome of their apprenticeship. The assessments will evaluate the knowledge, skills and behaviours gained during their programme. The methods in which this apprenticeship is assessed are:
- Assessment method 1 - Observation with questioning
- Assessment method 2 - Professional Discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
Entry Requirements
Entry requirements for apprenticeships vary depending on the level and type of apprenticeship, as well as the employer.
General requirements be:
- At least 16 years old,
- Not be in any other education
- Live in England.
E-Portfolio
We offer a dedicated virtual learning platform which allows learners to keep on track of their course. In addition to this, it allows our tutors and employers to keep up-to-date with the progression of learners.
