Course Overview

This apprenticeship prepares practitioners to work effectively with children, young people, families, and carers to create meaningful and sustainable change. Throughout the programme, apprentices develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed to recognise and assess complex needs, agree and deliver appropriate interventions, and work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to improve outcomes.

The course emphasises safeguarding, evidence-based practice, reflective supervision, and professional curiosity, enabling apprentices to make informed decisions and continuously evaluate the impact of their work. For those specialising in children’s residential care, the programme provides the expertise required to support children living in residential homes, special schools, or secure settings, including leading on placement plans and meeting each child’s health, education, social, emotional, and daily living needs.
